Nasozi Kakembo, CEO
Washington, D.C. & Kampala — Nasozi Kakembo is a Ugandan-American creative social scientist, artisan advocate, and founder of AAG. She has 15 years of e-commerce experience, and has worked with artisans throughout Africa in both a design and vendor capacity. She has also worked with some of the world’s most preeminent research and philanthropic organizations, where she specialized in marketing, communications, and strategic planning.
She holds a BA in Art History, a Msc in Urban Planning (Columbia University), and an Executive Certificate of Business Communications (Johns Hopkins). She is also the author of the upcoming book, African Decor Essentials: Styles and Stories of Traditional African Artisans, being released in Fall 2024 by Abrams Books.

Emma C. Wingfield, Product Strategy Officer
London & Abidjan — Emma C. Wingfield is an experienced American-British educator, researcher, and visual culturist. With over 15 years of expertise in art and design, she is a Lecturer in Design, Culture, and Enterprise at University for the Arts London and an Associate Lecturer in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London. Emma holds two MA degrees from University College London in History of Art and Archaeology.
She is a Doctoral Candidate in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths and Co-Founder/Head of Development for a design brand dedicated to preserving contemporary handwoven textiles in Côte d’Ivoire. Her research explores the impact of art and design on global commerce, particularly in West Africa and North America.
